The person behind the mission
A foundation built from two worlds.
Jonathan grew up in Connecticut and moved to Austin, Texas in 2024. For more than two decades, he worked in financial services — first as a portfolio manager and investment professional, then as a financial advisor helping individuals and families build long-term plans they could rely on.
That career shaped the way he thinks about responsibility: show up consistently, follow a plan, measure progress, and hold yourself accountable. It also taught him that real stability isn't accidental — it's the result of small, disciplined choices repeated over time.
Through his own recovery journey, Jonathan discovered something equally important: the same principles that build a strong financial life — honesty, structure, community, and patience — are the same ones that rebuild a life after addiction.

Why Cornerstone?
Sobriety is the starting line, not the finish line.
Jonathan founded Cornerstone because he saw a gap. Too many sober living homes offered a bed, a set of rules, and little else. Residents would leave with good intentions but without the practical foundations — steady employment, managed finances, life skills, and a rooted recovery community — that make independence sustainable.
He wanted to create something different: a structured environment where sobriety becomes the platform for building a meaningful, self-directed life. A place where accountability is an act of care, not control. Where residents are treated as adults capable of growth, and where the goal is not just staying clean, but becoming whole.
Accountability as care
Clear standards create safety. Jonathan believes boundaries, expectations, and honest feedback are how we show residents they matter.
Community over isolation
Recovery happens in connection. Cornerstone is built around 12-step fellowship, service, and peer relationships that last.
Structure for long-term success
The Four Foundations framework brings financial discipline, career focus, life skills, and recovery together into one path.
The Cornerstone Path
Recovery, Career, Financial, and Life.
The Four Foundations framework is Jonathan's answer to the question every resident faces after treatment: "I've stopped using. Now how do I actually build a life?"
A personal note
"Cornerstone exists because I know what it's like to need more than good intentions. I know what it's like to need structure, people who tell you the truth, and a reason to believe life can be rebuilt. My hope is that every person who walks through our door leaves with more than sobriety — they leave with a foundation."
